If you’re going to Antigua and Barbuda, make sure your shots are up to date, and consider getting vaccinated against hepatitis A and B. Avoid getting bitten by mosquitoes because mosquito-borne diseases such as Zika are often reported, which can pose special risks to women who might be pregnant or are planning to get pregnant. There are no facilities in Antigua and Barbuda for treating decompression sickness. Remember to avoid uncooked vegetables and fruit, and stick to food you can peel yourself.

Dengue fever in Antigua And Barbuda
There have been cases of the mosquito-borne virus dengue fever in Antigua And Barbuda. Dengue fever is also known as breakbone fever because of the severe bone, joint and muscular pains it causes, in addition to flu-like fever and headache. There is no vaccine for dengue fever. Avoid mosquito bites by using insect repellents (50% DEET) and by wearing protective clothing. Sleeping with mosquito nets is also recommended.
